忧郁症的症状: 不是每个忧郁症患者都表现出所有的症状,而且随着时间的改变症状也会发生变化。
- 悲哀的情绪-想哭/哭而没有明显的 诱因 - 感觉绝望或空虚 - 感觉内疚或自身没有价值 - 对过去喜欢做的事情失去兴趣或不能 从中获得享受的感觉 - 精力下降或感到疲倦 - 思考问题能力下降或记忆力下降 - 睡眠过多或过少 - 食欲下降或增加 - 自杀的念头
忧郁症的治疗 忧郁症对治疗的反应良好。治疗忧郁症的方法又多种,最有效的治疗方法包括心理治疗和药物治疗,两者结合效果更好。家人、朋友、和自助小组的支持也很重要。

What is Depression? Depression is a mood disorder. It is when a person feels very sad. Depression can change the way a person thinks, feels and behaves. It is not the same as feeling “blue”. It is not a sign of personal weakness or something that can be wished away. When a depressed mood stays for a long time or gets in the way of everyday living, it may be a sign of a serious depression that needs professional help.
What causes depression? There is no one reason why someone develops Depression. Family history, brain chemistry and stress play a big role in producing the illness. Sometimes Depression is caused by:
• the death of a loved one • money problems • family troubles • difficulties with others • problems at work
Signs and Symptoms Not everyone who is depressed has every symptom and the symptoms may change over time.
• Feeling sad – crying for no obvious reason • Feeling hopeless or empty • Feeling guilty or worthless • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed • Low energy or feeling tired • Difficulty thinking or remembering things • Sleeping too much or too little • Eating less or more than usual • Thoughts of suicide
What are the treatments? Depression can respond well to treatment. There are different types of treatment. The most common and successful approach is combining psychotherapy and antidepressant medications. Support from family, friends and self help groups can also be very helpful.
